Center for International Collaboration

It is quite important for Japan, surrounded by the sea on all sides, to advance marine and atmospheric sciences within the international framework of “Understanding and sustainable use of the ocean and the Earth”. To achieve the difficult term, international collaboration over the world is essential.

Center for International Research Collaboration (CIC) of the Atmospheric and Oceanic Research Institute (AORI) promotes international collaborative research and human resource development using international frameworks such as UNESCO, IPCC, Future Earth, SCOR. CIC also promotes to exchange the agreement of scientific collaboration with foreign institutions and international projects. CIC will  take the lead in domestic and international initiatives of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
