International Collaborative Research Center

As Japan is a maritime nation surrounded by ocean on all sides, it is important to advance atmospheric and ocean science research within the international framework of "understanding and sustainably using the ocean."

The Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute International Collaborative Research Center promotes research and human resource development using international frameworks such as UNESCO, IPCC, Future Earth, and SCOR. In addition, we will promote international collaborative research activities by signing collaboration agreements between Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute and foreign universities and research institutes, and promoting international projects. In particular, we will lead domestic and international activities related to the United Nations Decade of Marine Science for Sustainable Development.
